Eli Electric Vehicles is showing two new versions of its Zero electric microcar at EICMA 2026 in Milan: the higher-speed ZERO MX and a limited-production Race Edition. The MX is the company’s first model in Europe’s L7e heavy quadricycle category, with a top speed of up to 80 km/h (50 mph), compared with 45 km/h (28 mph) for the original L6e version.

The MX keeps the ZERO’s compact 2.25-meter (7.4-foot) length while increasing peak power to 20 kW (27 hp), up from 12 kW (16 hp). Its 14.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is rated for a range of up to 200 km (124 miles) per charge.

The rear-wheel-drive car has ECO and SPORT driving modes, a stated 30% climbing capability and a 7.2-meter turning circle. Its 3.3 kW onboard charger supports home and public AC charging. Equipment includes air conditioning and heating, a panoramic moonroof, keyless entry and start, ABS, disc brakes and an electronic parking brake. An 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and reversing camera with rear radar are also included; a 10.1-inch infotainment display with Apple CarPlay is optional.

The L7e classification permits the MX’s higher performance, but generally requires a higher-level driving licence than the L6e category. Eli says the MX will be offered in Pearl White, Arctic Silver, Graphite and Champagne. Pricing has not been announced.

The limited-production ZERO Race Edition will be available in both L6e and L7e versions. It gets Turbo Red paint, racing stripes, a rear spoiler and special wheel badging, along with a two-tone Race Red microsuede and light gray interior.

Its hidden Turbo mode is activated by holding the hazard light button. After four quick chimes, the instrument cluster switches to Turbo mode and the accelerator response becomes sharper. The feature does not increase top speed or exceed the vehicle’s regulatory performance limits.

Eli is also offering a Carbon Aero Kit with a carbon-fiber front splitter, side skirts and rear wing, compatible with the Race Edition and other ZERO models. The ZERO range is sold through authorized dealers in several European markets, including Italy, Norway and the Netherlands, with the base model starting at €10,500. The company says it also has a pilot program in the United States, while the new models are being introduced primarily for Europe.

The ZERO MX and Race Edition are on display at EICMA 2026 in Milan from November 3 to 8.
