Kia recorded its best-ever October sales in the US, delivering 80,008 vehicles, a 16% increase from the same month last year. The company said it has now posted six consecutive months of record-breaking sales and is aiming for a fourth straight annual US sales record.

Electrified and hybrid vehicles were among the main contributors to October’s growth. Kia reported year-over-year sales increases of 112% for electrified vehicles and 114% for hybrids, with both categories reaching new monthly records.

Several models also recorded higher sales than a year earlier: the EV9 rose 111%, the Telluride 63%, the EV6 58%, the Seltos 43%, the Sorento 31%, the Carnival 17%, the K4 14% and the Sportage 12%.

Kia’s new entry-level electric SUV, the 2027 EV3, is now on sale at dealerships nationwide. The company sold 1,496 in its first two months after it went on sale in mid-August. Its starting price is $29,890 for the Light front-wheel-drive model, which has a 58.3 kWh battery and an estimated range of up to 221 miles.

Higher trims use an 81.4 kWh battery, with front-wheel-drive versions rated for up to 321 miles. All-wheel drive is available on selected trims, adding a rear motor and bringing combined output to 261 horsepower. Kia says every EV3 has a native NACS charging port, allowing drivers to use Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.

The EV3’s arrival adds to Kia’s electric lineup as sales trends remain mixed across its existing models. EV9 sales were up 5% year to date through October, reaching 13,835 vehicles. EV6 sales improved slightly in October but remained 39% lower year to date, with 7,067 sold.

Kia America vice president of sales Eric Watson said the expanding hybrid range, the EV3 and demand for models including the Telluride and Seltos were supporting the company’s growth. He said Kia was confident its record-setting pace would continue through the fourth quarter and into 2027.
