Energized EV has opened its first fast-charging site at a Hardee’s restaurant, installing four ports at 587 Carrollton Street in Temple, Georgia. The company says further sites are planned at Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr. locations across the United States, but has not provided a total location count or timeline.
The Temple site has two XCharge C7 DC fast chargers, each rated at 240 kW and equipped with two connectors. Drivers can use either NACS or CCS1. XCharge says the units adjust power output between their connectors, while Monta provides the charging software.
CKE Restaurants, the parent company of Hardee’s and Carl’s Jr., described the restaurant charging option as a convenient place for EV drivers to recharge while stopping for a meal. Energized EV president and CEO Devin Grandis called the Temple opening the start of a larger expansion.
Energy & Environmental Design Services LLC is the program’s exclusive installer, responsible for services including design, installation and maintenance of charging infrastructure. Charging prices at the Temple location have not been announced.
