Eli Electric vehicles has previewed the Zero MX, a new electric microcar scheduled to be revealed at EICMA in Milan from November 3 to 8. The model will join the company’s lineup as an L7e vehicle, a classification that points to a substantially higher speed potential than the current Eli ZERO.

The existing European Eli ZERO is an L6e light quadricycle with a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph). Its compact two-seat design suits urban travel, but that speed limit restricts its use on faster roads. L7e vehicles can typically reach between 80 and 90 km/h (50 to 56 mph), suggesting that the ZERO MX could be useful for a wider range of journeys.

Eli’s Italian website already lists an L7e ZERO with a claimed top speed of 85 km/h (53 mph) and a range of up to 200 km (124 miles). However, the company’s teaser does not confirm whether those specifications apply directly to the upcoming ZERO MX.

The teaser also shows a Race Edition with a dark, sporty appearance, red accents and an open-sided cabin. The vehicle could receive design changes such as sport seats or alternative doors, although it is not yet clear whether the Race Edition will bring extra performance or mainly offer a different styling package.

Eli presents the Race Edition and ZERO MX separately, while the promotional artwork also references a second-generation ZERO. The relationship between these versions remains unclear until the official presentation.

Eli says the reveal will take place at EICMA in Hall 22, Stand B40. The event is scheduled to run from November 3 through November 8.
